How does registration work?
Once clubs have accepted their invitation to the event, club representatives will complete a form providing details of the gigs entered for shipping - to be submitted to the CPGA by 1st December.
When race entry registration opens, club administrators will register their gigs for each race via the CPGA Justgo system. A charge of £35 per gig (for each category entered) will be levied at the booking stage. This fee goes to the World Pilot Gig Championships Committee to support the running of the event.
Club administrators will use the membership platform to detail the participating crew members by the crew submission deadline. If needed, clubs will be able to amend and change their crew lists in the run up to and during the event.
All participating crew members will be either Junior GigRower members (under the age of 18, but 16 or over) or GigRower members (over the age of 18) to secure their eligibility to compete.
What is GigRower membership?
GigRower membership is an annual £25 subscription. Since its launch in June 2022, over 3000 members of our rowing community have joined. Proceeds from GigRower membership support our sport, including vital safety and welfare provision, the delivery of new and existing events, the development of junior rowing and GigRower StreamTeam coverage.
GigRower member benefits include:
● Discounted coaching and coxing courses
● Eligibility for championship participation
● Regular updates
What does the CPGA Justgo system do?
The system enables club officers to make event bookings and maintain up to date registration information. It will also securely manage information about participants including:
● Contact details and emergency contacts
● Medical and medication information
● Media consent
What should our club do if it cannot attend this year?
If an invitation is not required, it must be returned to the WPGC for re-allocation - not passed on to another club. Non-attendance will not affect invitations for the following year.
How many races can we enter?
Because some categories are run concurrently, each gig can be entered for up to 4 races:
1. Either Open / Open U25
2. Either Women’s / Women's U25
3. Either Open Vets, Super Vets or Masters
4. Either Women’s Vets, Super Vets or Masters
Can we borrow or loan a gig?
Absolutely, if you do not require a gig for a race category please consider lending it to another club.
Can I be a member of more than one CPGA club?
Yes, once an individual has signed into cpga.justgo.com they can be added to a single or multiple club member registers. There is no limit to the number of clubs that individuals can join. Individuals can sign in to cpga.justgo.com and visit ‘My Profile’ in the ‘Member Area’ to view, add and manage clubs, in the ‘My Club’ area to the right of the page. This area is where individuals can nominate and change their clubs. Club administrators can add individuals to their member register.
Can I compete for more than one club at WPGC 2025?
As in previous years, rowers and coxes may compete for more than one club at WPGC 2025. However, rowers and coxes must be listed on the membership register of each club that they represent.
Can I volunteer to help out the WPGC delivery team over the weekend?
Volunteers are very welcome. If you are interested in volunteering at the event please contact [email protected].
