The Isles of Scilly is the UK’s largest archipelago situated 28 miles off Land's End in Cornwall. There are 5 inhabited islands: St. Mary's, Tresco, Bryher, St. Martins and St. Agnes, and another 140 or so uninhabited except for wildlife and seabirds.
Warmed by the gulf stream and populated by a friendly community of just over 2000 islanders, sub-tropical Scilly has a tranquility and a quality of life long lost to less isolated places.
The Isles of Scilly is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), recognising the exceptional landscape we have on Scilly as that of distinctive character and natural beauty.
Each year we want to ensure that the World Pilot Gig Championships do not have a negative impact on the islands. With clean up incentives throughout the event, as well as a beach clean at the end of the event which all volunteers are welcome to attend!
For more information on the islands and up-to date accommodation lists, visit the Visit the Isles of Scilly website here.
